In light of current conditions, EMC has transitioned peer networking Events to Webinars until there is a solid road to recovery established.
BC Lower Mainland Manufacturing Members joined together virtually on April 15th, 2020 to garner insight on the latest information available relating to COVID19 in Compliance with Labour, Health and Safety and Human Rights Legislation.
EMC has had an overwhelming number of queries regarding workforce issues since the crisis first began and we have held several webinars across Canada in the past few weeks. We know things are changing daily and it may be hard to keep up with everything required. There were almost 100 companies registered for this session from across the Province of BC, as well as Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
We were very pleased to have Eric Ito, Associate, Miller Thomson LLP (Vancouver) as our Guest Speaker for this extremely important session and he provided excellent insight and experience relating to the topic at hand. Some of the areas of discussion, centred on:
It shouldn’t be a surprize, that the “Chat Box” was full of questions and dialogue regarding each of these areas of discussion and companies online had a chance to realize that there were similar issues amongst them.
Our Guest Speaker mentioned that there was an excellent Risk Assessment Matrix available that might be helpful to some. A link to the Matrix, has been included in the chart below.
